ThankLocation

Each ThankToken carries the ThankLocation where it was created. This is a rough geographical location where the creator of the token is based and registered for his basic income.

OLC

The location of a (non-pseudonymous) identity is determined and encoded as an Open Location Code (OLC). See also plus.codes for further details.

Sector

To build this code the world is divided into 9x18 sectors as squares of the WGS84-Ellipsoid with 20˚ each. This is illustrated by the following figure: Sectors of the World

Area

Each of these sectors is again divided into 20x20 areas as squares with 1˚ each. This is illustrated for the sector 9F by the following figure: Areas in sector 9F

Region

Each of this areas is again divided into 20x20 regions as squares with 0.05˚ each. This is illustrated for the area 9F2C by the following figure: Regions in area 9F2C (northern Germany)

Region and Tokens

While OLC goes further from here, we want people to stay pseudonymous. With the region information we have a precision of ~5.5 km what is fairly enough information. Region 9F2C4M in Frankfurt a.M., Germany
