Manually activate a user's account

  1. Copy the email address from the student's message. (Use the address in the "from" header.)

  2. Go to the admin page for users.

  3. Paste the student's email into the search bar (upper right corner) and search for the address.

  4. You'll see a page of search results—there should be only one result. Click on the student's username.

  5. Check the "Active" checkbox and click the "Save" button.

Don't just scan the list of accounts and activate the corresponding account. It's important to search for the student's email address because a significant number of people spell their email addresses wrong.
