Welcome! This is a third generation site for Knowledge Commons DC ([email protected]).

Project coordination

Get started

Security note: do not add people as staff, ever. Staff can view, edit, or destroy anything on the website. Please have new Dojo members talk to the website admins so that they can get an orientation to the site. It'll be cool.

Apps

  • Classes is the major part of the site. It lists class descriptions, records student enrollment, and displays class documentation. Facilitators and staff can view enrollment, and a new dashboard will let us analyze course and student activity. The app also handles all editorial biographies in the site, whether for teachers, volunteers, or Dojo members.

  • Pinata is a tiny content management system, so named because it contains all kinds of goodies. It lets you create pages with text and images, assign those pages to a web address, and add those pages to each section's local navigation links. Pinata will also handle more structured information like the contribute section. (Parts of Pinata pull information from Classes -- notably, the staff bios.)

  • Pigeon is a blog-posting app. The name comes from the idea of a "pigeon post," carrying the mail with homing pigeons.

  • Squirrel will let us gather information in forms.
