Now a window should open on its own asking you for the credentials that should be used to connect to a WiFi network. The drop-down list of WiFi networks shows the networks currently available, but you can enter other network names as well.
If no window opens, then your operating system doesn't support captive portals. In that case, point your browser to the IP address

Enter the information and click the "Save" button. The device now resets and tries to use the credentials to connect to the network. You router will probably tell you that a new device joined the network.
If the connection couldn't be established, the device falls back to opening the captive portal.
The device now switches to normal operation, and with the default setting enters low-power mode for 10s before waking up again. Thus you should see a pause for 10s before the LED turns on again for a short while, followed be the next 10s pause.
To initialize the RTC correctly, it is necessary to switch to the portal mode and set the RTC time to the current NTP time. This includes a reset for the RTC, which guarantees a correct initialization of the chip. Otherwise, depending on how fast the voltage rises when inserting the battery the RTC memory might have become corrupted.
