Enabling the Services menu item

Notational Velocity’s services command (“NV: New Note With Selection”) appears under the Services menu of your current application. If you cannot see it while text is selected, try the following:

  1. Make sure Notational Velocity is in your /Applications/ directory.
  2. Restart your computer after doing so.
  3. If using Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), enable the item explicitly via
    System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Services > Text
