Lets spread the message of a Green Diwali by making it a social phenomenon.
Hi, Thanks a lot for the interest in the project. This is an attempt to turn the best festival of India, Diwali into a green initiative socially. The code runs happily on Raspberry Pi, BBB (with some changes-TODO) and Intel Edison (with some more changes-TODO).
We all know why firecrackers are bad. They pollute air quality and make our earth environment contaminate that we would not like to be for the coming generations.
This project aims at creating awareness but pleading to all makers who have a Pi/BBB/Edison to install one at their homes and whenever somebody tweets with the hastag #Diwali, it will catch the tweet and check if it contains the word green, and they virtually sound fireworks and flicker a LED attached to Pin 22.
You can use my API Keys by sending me an email at indiantinker(at)gmail.
Makers, Lets make this diwali a greenwali diwali.
You will need the following libraries:
random,twython
Install them with pip as you would do.
Then its git clone and replace the API keys with yours or email me to get mine in the .py file.
I have two files just in case you dont need the LED stuff.
Then just sudo python diwali_py
