Meeting notes

  • Victor: do you have any plans for moving the logic for SPIR kernel generation from SemaSYCL to the CodeGen?

  • Zahira: no resources for work on this item in near future.

  • Victor: will push a patch for https://github.com/intel/llvm/issues/5320 "as is" then.

  • Ronan: Ideas how to speed-up the upstream work?

  • Victor: the main barrier was address space patch, but it's merged now.

  • Alexey: agree. Now the main problem is that people are working on other tasks and upstreaming SYCL to llorg is not their main priority.

  • Ronan: I think we should organize the increase of review in llorg to provision the increase of PR amount in llvm.org.

  • Alexey: another idea is to use LLVM GPU working group to get help for non*SYCL specific issues. For instance, Codeplay team raised this https://github.com/intel/llvm/issues/1258 to the group and they took the ownership.

  • Victor: can be helpful for upstreaming SPIR-V backend.

  • Alexey: can we push https://reviews.llvm.org/D108034 ahead of SPIR-V backend?

  • Victor: I think so.
