- preloads & arranges static images in book like format
- uses SVG to paint shadows and highlights during animation
- animation speed + easing effects controlled through granular config settings
- paging can be controlled through various event handlers
- keyboard shortcuts, click, timers, etc
- javascript is neatly separated from html structure & css
- this allows for greater flexibility & customization
- images load sequentially, aka strict load order of from front to back
- this helps to avoid long startup & initial wait times
- performant on tablet & mobile devices
