Plan for 2019

EclipseLink 3.0.0 (June 2019)

• build based on Maven (PR -> before the end of March)
• JDK 8 and JDK 11+ supported (done)
• move JPA-RS specifics out of org.eclipse.persistence.core module (done)
• remove ANTLR parser from eclipselink.jar
• remove SDO from eclipselink.jar (done)
• remove Corba/IIOP from eclipselink.jar (done)
• remove backwards compatibility with JPA =< 2.1 (almost done, deprecate and remove eventually)
• changes requested by Helidon

EclipseLink 3.x.x (Oct 2019)

• support new Oracle DB data types, such as native support for JSON DB type
• support for MySQL 8
• p2 integration -> no p2/tycho update sites
• remove Oracle DB <= 10 support
• bugfixes
