A

  • Appropiate username: It is a user identifier that follows the rules of creating a username. It must be unique for every user, it must consist of alphanumerical characters only and its length must be between 5-16 characters.
  • Availability: The state or condition of the application being accessible and operational for use by users, ensuring that the application is reliably available whenever users need to access it.

B

  • Bookmarks list: A collection or set of saved items, typically routes or posts, that users have marked or "bookmarked" for easy access.

E

  • Export route: The capability for users to transfer route data from the platform to an external destination in a standardized format. This feature allows users to share routes with other platforms, devices, or users, or to back up and archive their route data for future use.

F

  • Feed: A page where latest routes and followed users' posts are shown to the logged in user.
  • Feedback mechanism: A system or process implemented within the application to collect and analyze feedback from users regarding their experience, suggestions for improvement, and reporting of issues or bugs.

H

  • Hot route: Popular routes shared by people publicly. This flag will be automatically assigned to posts that require specific criteria such as comment, like, reroute they receive after they publicly shared.

I

  • Import route: The capability for users to bring route data into the platform from an external source in a standardized format. This feature allows users to transfer routes from external sources, such as files or other applications, into the platform for viewing, editing, or sharing.
  • Inappropriate action: Actions performed by users on the platform that violate community guidelines, terms of service, or acceptable usage policies. These actions may include harassment, hate speech, spamming, posting inappropriate or irrevelant content, sexual abuse, disrespect to a protected group or engaging in other behavior deemed harmful to the community.

  • Native mobile application: A mobile application developed specifically for a particular mobile operating system (e.g., Android or iOS) using the platform's native development tools and programming languages.
  • New login device: A device that is being used to access the application for the first time or from a location that hasn't been previously recognized.

P

  • Points of Interest (POI): A point of interest(POI) is a geolocation describing a historical, cultural, or entertainment landmark that holds activity value. It is a crucial part of routes.

R

  • Rating system: A rating system is a feature that allows users to assign a numerical or qualitative score to routes, POIs, or other user-generated content. Ratings provide valuable feedback to users and help others make informed decisions about which routes to explore or follow.
  • Response time: The time taken by the system to respond to a user's request, typically measured from the time the request is received by the system until the response is sent back to the user.
  • Reroute: Sharing (and maybe modifying) another user's route.
  • Route: A route is a set of POI such that there exists a connected directed graph where vertices are POI and edges are any route between two POI.

S

  • Security criteria: Standards or requirements set to ensure the strength and integrity of user passwords, typically including a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters. A password meeting the security criteria for this project must include at least an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and have a length between 8-16 characters.
  • Shared route: A route created by a user and made available to other users for viewing and interaction within the platform. Users can share routes to showcase interesting locations, provide travel recommendations, or share their own experiences with others.
  • Sign-up confirmation code: A unique code sent to a user's provided e-mail address or phone number during the sign-up process to confirm the validity of the provided contact information.

T

  • Turkish Personal Data Protection Law: In Turkish, it is known as KVKK(Kisisel Verileri Koruma Kanunu). Legislation in Turkey designed to safeguard the privacy and rights of individuals.

U

  • User information: Data provided by users to personalize their profiles or enhance their experience within the application. This can include settings preferences or personal information, depending on the user's willingness to share information.

V

  • Valid e-mail address: : An electronic address conforming to the standard format accepted for e-mail communication, containing a username -in e-mail context- followed by the "@" symbol and a domain name.
