Welcome to Git-For-Geeks 3.0! 🚀

Event Details:

Git-For-Geeks is a dynamic open-source contribution event organized by the Geeks-for-Geeks Chapter of Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur. It’s a chance to dive into the world of open-source, contribute to exciting projects, and enhance your skills—all while having fun!

Here’s how you can be a part of this amazing journey:

Why Join Git-For-Geeks?

  • Work on real projects: Contribute to repositories that need your input.
  • Boost your GitHub profile: Add meaningful work to your public directory.
  • Make an impact: Every contribution you make helps the open-source community grow stronger.

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned developer, Git-For-Geeks provides a platform to make your first contributions. You’ll practice creating pull requests, collaborating with others, and contributing to public repositories.

Let’s celebrate the spirit of open-source and work together to complete some fantastic tasks!

This event is open to all GitHub community members. Anyone can contribute and learn by doing.

How to Get Involved

Step 1: Create Your GitHub Account

If you don’t already have one, you’ll need a GitHub account. Don’t worry—it’s quick and easy!

Step 2: Find Projects to Contribute To

You can find open-source projects worth contributing to on our GitHub page. Here’s how:

  • Use the following filter to find available tasks:
    label:git-for-geeks is:issue is:open
  • Add a language label of your choice to find issues specific to the programming languages you prefer.
  • If you’re a beginner, don’t worry! Look for issues tagged with:
    label:good-first-issue

Step 3: Make Your Contributions

  • Submit at least 4 pull requests as part of this event.
  • Ensure your pull requests are high-quality and follow best practices (no simple typo fixes, please!).
  • PRs will be reviewed and verified by maintainers, so make sure they add value!
