Team Leader Meeting 17.04.

Decisions:

Storing Groceries:

  • Recognition of Objects needs to be shown clearly (Pointing at object/Attempting a grasp)

Receptionist:

  • There can be additional chairs in the party area
  • The guest will not get lost while guiding to the party area

Carry my Luggage:

  • Obstacles can be placed on the way to the car AND on the way back to the arena
  • there is no score penalty for just asking the person to wait in place

Team Leader Meeting 18.04.

Decisions:

Serve Breakfast:

  • Cornflakes and Milk can be requested to be opened beforehand by team or during the test by the robot
  • Not ALL items must be placed before pouring. Wording is a bit weird here. It is fine to for example place the bowl then get the cornflakes and pour them before placing them, the milk, and the spoon.
  • If requesting pickup, item recognition (category and position) needs to be clearly demonstrated by the robot
  • There can be multiple cornflakes boxes

EGPSR:

  • Objects on the floor can be from the object set or random objects

Clean the Table:

  • No points for placing correctly when using the tray on top. Maybe better wording needed.

Restaurant

  • Heavy objects can not be ordered

Stickler

  • Trash objects on the floor can be from the object set or random objects
  • For confirm: People might not immediately follow the robot's orders.
  • People can get lost during guiding

Rulebook/Scoring Issues:

  • Partial points for only picking tiny/heavy?
  • Visualize objects in storing groceries?
  • Wording in Receptionist (Introducing a guest to each other guest). Host is also a Party Guest!
  • Survey for Receptionist: Questions are mixed between positive and negative (The robot is polite/The robot tries to hurt people). But the scale is always Disagree --- Agree (1-5). Some people seem to confuse this with 1 is always a bad grade and 5 is a good one.
  • Carry my Luggage: Apply penalty for rediscovering only if robot scores afterwards
  • GPSR: Pause timer in between commands to give time for referees to setup the arena. Specifically: Pause timer when robot returns to inspection point. Resume timer when operator steps in front of the robot again.
  • In Restaurant: Serve an Order needs to give more points than take an order. DEM need to be adjusted.
  • Allowed partial scoring for bonus points in storing groceries: Half points for only picking tiny object
  • Allowed partial points for describing the guest in receptionist: 25% of points per correct descriptor -25% for wrong descriptor
  • EGPSR: Maybe give points for just finding people wanting assistance same as finding objects. Understanding the command could give partial points for solving.
  • Maybe more problem setups for EGPSR. More objects, not more people necessarily.
  • Commands by people need to setup on the fly. Slightly problematic for referee, maybe catch with logic in generator but might be difficult and too restricting.
  • (for next year) Maybe do different simpler commands for the robot like just bring me a drink. Maybe complete table setting, Cupboard door is opened but should be closed, Drawer is opened but should be closed. Maybe give less points for completing problems from the same category to encourage diverse set of skills and allow us to just put more problems of the same type to reduce boring search time
  • Restaurant unattached tray bonus points: An unattached tray can be brought by the team (register during robot inspection). For full points the robot needs to pick up the items from the bar place them on the unattached tray and then pick up the tray. Then bring it to the table, take the items from the tray and place them on the table. Asking the barman to place items on the tray and asking guests to take items from the tray is considered a handover. For the bonus points the robot needs to pick up the tray from the bar and transport it with the order on it to the table.
  • Stickler just showing log for identifying rule breakers is not enough
  • Stickler: Bonus reward is mainly for making eye contact.
  • (for next year): Eye contact is not really bonus worthy. Maybe make it a requirement of the main goal (penalty for not making eye contact)
  • Wrt mapping in restaurant. Maybe state the procedure more specific like: When the team is called to place their robot at the start position, the robot is allowed to start recording a map. The robot MUST move in a straight line from the queue to the start.
  • Stickler: How was it handled in Bordeaux if the robot talks to no one about a rule? Was it a penalty or did we say the robot loosing time is penalty enough
