What is the Figma

Figma is a web-based graphics editing and user interface design app. You can use it to do all kinds of graphic design work from wireframing websites, designing mobile app interfaces, prototyping designs, crafting social media posts, and everything in between. Figma is different from other graphics editing tools.

What is the prototype

A prototype is a model of a site or application. It makes it easier for the customer to evaluate how people will use the product. To create a website prototype, a designer draws screens and creates links between them.

What are the interfaces

Interface elements are the look and feel of the product. In Figma, you can create buttons, icons, feedback forms and customize effects: make clickable buttons, expand lists, create animation for blocks and popups.

What are the popups.

Pop-up window on the site (pop-up window) - the format of online advertising. This is a block with a short message that pops up during a visit to the site.

Vector graphics

Figma has basic tools for working with vector objects, it allows you to export your design in SVG format, import vector objects from a professional vector-based design and drawing programs.

The main features of the free version

  • Unlimited files in drafts
  • Unlimited viewers and commenters
  • Unlimited editors on 3 team files
  • 1 team project
  • 30-day version history
  • Unlimited cloud storage

Additional features

Figma has made a Developer Handoff mode. You can use guides to determine the distances to objects and their size, copy the CSS-styles of the elements, their code for Android and iOS. A scroll animation is available for the prototype.

Why Figma

At the same time, the free version has a minimum number of restrictions. For example, it lacks the ability to organize and distribute all layouts in the appropriate client folders or maintain centralized design systems that are available to several users at once. Sometimes this is not enough, but this is just a matter of convenience. Convenient work with components - pre-prepared design elements (buttons, forms, etc.), the changes of which are applied to all its copies. If, for example, a client has a button style change and you make this change to the parent component, then it will automatically propagate to all buttons in all client layouts.
