Daksh was started in 2006 by a group of citizens concerned about the lack of accountability in politics and governance. Daksh currently consists of people from diverse backgrounds including academics, entrepreneurs, lawyers, teachers, social and political activists and ordinary citizens. Daksh's Objective
- Track performance of elected governments and representatives by collecting relevant information on a regular basis.
- Collect and present detailed, query-friendly background information about people in politics.
- Elicit and present the perceptions of citizens at a local level.
- Present human development indicators at the most important unit of political activity- the constituency.
- Promote active citizen participation to ensure accountability in politics and governance.

During this collaboration with DataKindBLR, DAKSH wants to explore how can we use their data to "Empower Judges with Data Driven Approach".
We are working on various analysis and will be presenting the analysis using Superset; Superset is an open software that sits between a database and lets us create simple visualizations. The list of analysis that we are working on are represented in the projects section; each project is an analysis that is being worked on.
- "First-timers" are welcome! Whether you're trying to learn data science, hone your coding skills, or get started collaborating over the web, we're happy to help. If you have any questions feel free to pose them on our Slack channel, or reach out to one of the facilitators.
- Feeling comfortable with GitHub, and ready to dig in? Check out our GitHub projects, each project is a data analysis that we are working on with their respective issues.
- This README is a living document: If you see something you think should be changed, feel free to edit and submit a pull request. Not only will this be a huge help to the group, it is also a great first PR!
- Got an idea for something we should be working on? You can submit an issue on our GitHub page, mention your idea on Slack, or reach out to one of the project leads.
The data is shared over Google Drive.
