While that is mainly an issue for Pulp (users), the README should be changed appropriately? (leave it out, strike it thru, ...?)

You're right and I don't expect anyone to write one soon, so for now I'd drop it or clarify that it only worked with Pulp 2. Given that it's EOL I think dropping is the right solution.
