Hello! I just got a very well spec'd MacBook Pro 15" running macOS 10.13.2 High Sierra for Christmas and I'd like to have a mobile streaming setup using an Elgato HD 60 S. I know it's not supported by this driver just yet, but I'd like to play around with it anyway. I'm not a developer, but I'd be willing to provide you guys working on this project with any debug information necessary to help it along to be supported.

WIth that said, what's the status of this project? Is it still being worked on? If it's stalled, will you ever go back to it? You'd be doing a huge favor to Mac streamers/console gamers that want to capture and record/stream their content using OBS vs the GCHD app itself.

Thanks.

I'd like to know too. I've had an HD60 Pro for a few years and I just switched to linux.

There are a couple points worth mentioning here.

First is that, last I heard, the current maintainer hasn't had the time to do much forward work on this project in quite some time. Life has gotten in the way, as it unfortunately has a habit of doing.

The second is that (based on reading other comments on issues around this project) the GCHD 60 is internally a vastly different beast than the GCHD. From what I gather, the existing code base may not be of any help at all in supporting the *60. A couple of people have expressed interest in making their own efforts to supporting it, but there hasn't been much info on if they've gotten around to it. Time is our worst enemy, I'm afraid.

Side-note: if anyone comes along and decides to create a *60 driver, hit me up. I've not got the time or the field expertise to do anything super significant, but I'd love to contribute small patches here and there.

I'm willing to commit some small funding to ensure a small handful of maintainers get access to the various hardware cards needed to develop this software; Dear @tolga9009, please ping me if that would make a meaningful stride towards current gen support

Sorry for the late answer. A while back, I made the announcement, that I had no time for this project anymore. Reverse-engineering such a complex, proprietary "black-box" without any public documentation is very time-consuming and difficult to keep motivated at. It seems seveirein hasn't worked on it aswell over the past year, so I think it's safe to say this project is dead.

If someone wants to pick up the work, fork the project. Just let me say, if you haven't used it before, don't expect too much. It really is some sort of quick & dirty "proof-of-concept" rather than a solid driver.

That beeing said, thanks for your generous offer @thorsummoner. I own the GCHD and HD60 already, so I'm well served. I won't touch any PCIe Elgatos, which rules out the HD60 Pro and 4K60. PCIe drivers need to be developed in kernel space, which is even more time-consuming and a true pain in the butt, as it requires dealing with virtual machines, kernel panics and system freezes.

You might want to direct message seveirein maybe, as he's the only other guy capable of doing this, who I'm aware of.
