Please check before submitting an issue

  • I have searched the issues and haven't found anything relevant
  • I will upload bugreport file in KernelSU Manager - Settings - Report log
  • I know how to reproduce the issue which may not be specific to my device

Describe the bug

Changing the namespace doesn't work
Seems to be the same issue here #652

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start Root Explorer and go to /data/data folder
  2. See that Root Explorer lists only its folder and GMS
  3. Go to Superusers of KernelSU
  4. Change the namespace mode of Root Explorer to Global by applying a custom template (also tried custom per-app setting)
  5. Kill Root Explorer for changes to take effect
  6. Start Root Explorer and go to /data/data folder
  7. See that Root Explorer still lists only its folder and GMS

I am using X-plore but have also tried with Solid explorer

As this issue may related the app profile issue that i met, I'll left my issue here.
(And may be Android 14 issue)

Device info

Describe the bug

file manager cannot list dirs under /data/data with app profile rootexploler.root@Rem01Gaming, but with default profile it works.

To Reproduce

Should be able to reproduce with any file explorer including ls in termux, here using Material Files (me.zhanghai.files) which can be easily get from fdroid.

  1. gain root in ksu manager (may need to refresh app menu to make sure ksu really gives root)
    vlcsnap-2024-07-14-14h35m56s458

  2. start the file manager, navigate to /data/data, should get many dirs.
    vlcsnap-2024-07-14-14h36m05s193

  3. set app profile to rootexploler.root (need to refresh app menu to make sure ksu really apply changes)
    vlcsnap-2024-07-14-14h36m21s268

  4. restart app, navigate to /data/data, dirs gone.

Additional context

  • Apply the profile on MT File Explorer, it pops up a dialog that shows to bypass Android restriction you need to use sdk-28 version, which DOES works.

    Screenshot_20240714-143130_MT管理器

  • current manager cannot save logs via the save button, only to get a 0B file.
    Screenshot_20240714-142423_質感檔案~2

  • (this one may need to open a new issue) if you have applied a pre-defined app profile to a app, then it would be not possible to switch to custom profile. There is a workaround: remove root, refresh app list, then give root, and set custom rule without touching predefined profiles.
