Installation (for v0.9.4.x Users)
Note: After the following steps, all future updates and installations will be handled from within WordPress.
- Deactivate (but don't delete) your existing W3 Total Cache plugin (if installed) from within WordPress' Plugin page.
- Use FTP or some other file manager to navigate to
wp-content/plugins/
. - Download the latest release (only use the link above) and extract its contents into
wp-content/plugins/
. The extracted directory name should be:w3-total-cache-fixed
. If not, then rename it. - Activate the W3 Total Cache (Fixed) plugin from within WordPress' Plugin page.
- Verify everything is working correctly and that your original configuration settings are still present. However, if any problems do occur during this installation then just deactivate this plugin and reactivate your original one. Do not attempt to activate both plugins.
- Delete the previously deactivated plugin (step 1) from within WordPress' Plugin page.
- Empty all caches.
