Why is "trusted-networks" a table and not an array?

It is actually a set, which is not a valid TOML structure. We are slowly moving away from TOML and in the next release all settings will be stored in the database in order to be able to modify them from the webadmin and the REST API.

I see. I'm currently setting up a stalwart mailserver using NixOS, so I actually like to be able to configure everything using config files. This allows me to define everything in nix.

You'll be able to continue to do that. However you won't be able to change any settings from the webadmin.
