A bit about me?
I'm still under the delusion that I can improve on the predictability problem in financial markets. With full understanding that these markets are enigma, the elusiveness makes me want to explore it even more. How can we utilize modern technology to evaluate market data and get an edge? With statistics and math? Brute force hunting? Artificial intelligence? Is it pseudoscience? I'm not sure, but am enjoying the journey.
From a credentials perspective, I have a long history in systems, product, and software design and engineering -- all backed by formal education in traditional engineering, science, and finance. I am, admittedly, also a bit of a data and analytics nerd.
What am I working on?
- technical indicators for equities, commodities, forex, cryptocurrencies, and others
- algo-trading and trade-support systems and tools
How I use sponsorship income
My overall goal for sponsorship income is to give it all back in ways that encourage longevity, product excellence, innovation, and open-source community participation in our trade and trader support projects. Most of it goes to:
- people who help the most: our major code contributors and proactive maintainers of our projects (redistribution)
- tools, subscriptions, and cloud services to support related operational needs and demo sites
- higher quality knowledge; e.g. books and industry publications
In the spirit of a not-for-profit world, all of it goes to bringing joy and support to open-source endeavors and those that we rely on most. Coders helping coders.
