Describe the change being requested
Make acronyms for:

The stages
The types of workshop
The Code of Conduct
The guide itself
The roles

I agree each page should stand along - but if using the guide day to day - it can be cumbersome to not have a short form for some of the terms.

State the reason for the change
Make it easier to use - we can still use the long form on the pages but having an official acronym list would be useful

Describe the impact of the change on other parts of the SSI-EOG
We should not let them leak into the guide - but we can have official acronyms

Describe any alternatives you have considered (if applicable)
Not having acronyms - but that would make it harder to embed and use day to day.

Additional context
Perhaps for a future version

add:

Bring Your Own Data (BYOD)
Software Carpentry (SWC)
Data Carpentry (DC)

We can say we don't use them in the guide but recognise them as useful when working with the guide and in the general research software community.

from @selina-aragon: (as past of the work incorporating comms-edits2) - Just as a side note, an acronym glossary could also be part of your style guide.
