Reconfiguring the Configuration Menus.

The Configuration Menus are going to change quite a bit in the next 2024.06.0, beta versions of this release will be available in the next days and when you are willing to test them would be really appreciated.
Did introduce an Advanced menu in the main options, and as you can see..

The Advanced Menu now will contain the image offsets , status text, copy logs and room colours rename are now in the same location.

There is also the possibility to.. copy and remove the specific logs snapshot (zip files) from the log copy brand new menu.
That feels also better then the previous implementation ;)

Among all, a new module with users_data functions is lighting the code a little and concentrate all function that actually (for visibility) are collecting your data that remain on your system.

• The users_data are used to generate some customizations of the camera based mainly on the languages you use, we do also save on the .storage the rooms data. And in this new version the languages used from all the users configured in the system will be updated at once. The text on the colours menu is also ..

More Evident

The full changes and release of 2026.06.0 is scheduled for the end of next week, meanwhile the HA guys will allow us to enjoy some beta of Home Assistant in the middle in order to confirm nothing breaks :)

Just from tests done..
When updating the camera, with HACS , the files in the valetudo_vacuum_camera are replaced.. the colours menus description will return to default. To update them again would be needed to restart home assistant and then refresh again the GUI.
It's currently possible to update again the rooms once the download from HACS is completed and then (as required) restart the home assistant instance, this would keep the descriptions field "customize" with the vacuum room names.
Procedure:

• Update the camera with HACS.
• Get in the camera advanced setting.
• Run the "Rename Colour Options" function.
• Restart Home Assistant to load the new camera version.

This is just a work around until I will not found a permanent solution. Thanks for any input or in general your kind understanding.

The dynamic room colours configuration is under the way :) the first test was just made and it woks 👍
I think will release the 2024.06.0 early next week. And I hope you guys will enjoy it.. it is quite fun to work on it.
Will publish tomorrow the beta 3 :)

The beta version 3 never happened (rushing to fix a report issue) but release 2024.06.1 should fix some issues with 2024.06.0 as well preventing the imminent changes on HA 2024.6.0 😉

by the way I forgot to update the mainifest.json... it can happen.. you will notice the version is still b3
This version is going to improve the coexistence of the custom component with Home Assistant (that as matter of fact, I would like to bring to a gold if not platinum scale). Therefore in the next versions, weeks, month, whatever it takes.. more than other would focus on improvements on this direction.
Whenever possible please continue to contribute, your issues, feedbacks, code enhancements (also advices) when possible.. are really welcome.

There will be more beta releases in this phases, will release only when there is the need and hopefully improve with the time also the pre-releases checks..

It was a quite hard week but I hope all you will be up and running the Cameras in your instances smoothly for the time be.
