How did we end up with inverted coil numbering?

@ElDominio do you have any alternative source of wiring diagrams? which coil is pin 1? which coil is pin 16?

it changes between 2 and 3 if the car is immo equipped or not

does immo/no immo align with BK1 / BK2 or is that not related?

not related, both come with/without immobilizer, and the pins are the same between bk1/bk2; they only depnd on if immmo equipped or not

OK, so this case I will change project to officially call coils like it "4 no/1 with immo"
