Builds have stopped #21

@bquorning pardon the ping, I'm not sure if you've seen this since this repo is generally low activity. Are you still the right person for this? |
Thanks for the ping. Unfortunately I haven’t used CircleCI in a few years, nor did I notice that a repo that we depend on (https://github.com/circleci/circleci-images) has been removed 😅 And it sees (CircleCI-Public/cimg-ruby#111) like CircleCI still have no intention of providing nightly / head builds. I can only see builds 3 months back at https://app.circleci.com/pipelines/github/rubocop/circleci-ruby-snapshot-image?createdBefore=2024-03-01, antd it looks like all builds have failed in that time period. To be honest, at this time I’m not sure if I will even attempt to fix it, or if we’re better off (for the RuboCop repositories) to switch to GitHub Actions and use the action https://github.com/ruby/setup-ruby and its nightly builds from https://github.com/ruby/ruby-dev-builder. |
Someone knows now, that's all I wanted (: Personally I think consolidating RuboCop CI to Actions sounds like a nice thing to do. There a are already a few things running on actions, and there's a windows matrix already that will be easy to piggyback from, which would encompass most (not all) circleci testing. |
Alright, there are now no consumers of this anymore in the rubocop org: https://github.com/search?q=org%3Arubocop+snapshot&type=code Should this be archived? |
Probably because Ruby 2.7 has been removed from the upstream repo? https://github.com/circleci/circleci-images disappeared as well.
I created my own build process with docker-ruby-nightly/ruby@f682f97 after some tips from an upstream maintainer in docker-library/ruby#453 (comment) because I need alpine images which this doesn't provide. Feel free to adapt this however you wish since it works for the other variants as well.
