Reasons for the request

I believe this project has been abandoned. The last release was over 1 year ago, on Sep 7, 2023. The last activity on the repo was actually merging a pull request from me.

The package is a plugin for playwright, but in its current state it is completely broken for this purpose since playwright 1.45 was released on Jul 3, 2024. Additionally, python 3.12 support is completely broken.

In my fork, I've fixed the above issues by merging PRs open on the current repo to mine, as well as added some new ones (see my CHANGELOG).

I don't claim to be the ideal maintainer, but I believe I will be an improvement to the current state. I've had maintainer permissions on pyppeteer for a few years now.
