element_sample function assumes spherical while line_sample assumes cartesian coordinates #4

Not an issue per se... but the functions to calculate indices along a line to build transects, element_sample and line_sample assume different coordinates. It would be good to have both accept either lat/lon or projected coordinates. The simplest option would be to have element_sample use projected coordinates?
