Thanks for making this software again. I've taken some trouble to type out some of the common keyboard shortcuts i use when making minder mindmaps.
If you can add these into the wiki it'd be great.
I've done some of this in markdown.
Getting Started with Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts are important if you want to work quickly with minder.
Node Creation (Return or Enter Key)
To create a root node, use the return or enter key.
To create several nodes in succession, use the return or enter key
press Esc once you are done, and then use the return or enter key.
Root Node Navigation (Up/Down arrow Keys)
To navigate between several adjacent root nodes, select one root node, and
use the up and down arrow keys.
Node Editing (e key)
To edit nodes, use the e key
Child Creation (tab key)
To create child nodes, ensure that you have the root nodes selected,
and press the tab key.
Press Tab several times if you want to make child and grandchild nodes.
Root Node and Child Node Navigation (Left/Right Arrow Key)
Use the left and right arrow keys to navigate between root and child nodes.
Centering your view on current Node (Shift C)
To center your view on the current node, select the desired node, and press
shift C.
Zooming in and Out (Ctrl - and Ctrl =)
To zoom in and out use Ctrl - and Ctrl = respectively.
The equal sign is where the plus sign is. However to make things convenient
there is no need to press the shift key to zoom in.
Node Connections (X Key)
To create connections between nodes (ie, visible arrows) you will need to
select two nodes.
First, select the node you want to start the arrow from.
Use the x key,
Second, use the mouse to click the node you want the arrow to point to.
Node Connection Navigation (Shift X Key)
To navigate to your newly created node connection, use shift X.
Editing Text In Node Connection (e Key)
To edit text within the node connection, use e, and this will put you
in insert mode for the node connection.
Node Link (y key)
Node links are like node connections, except that you cannot see the arrow link.
Moreover, they allow you to navigate quickly from the start point to the end point.
To create links between nodes (ie, invisible arrows) you will need to
select two nodes.
First, select the node you want to start the arrow from.
Use the y key,
Second, use the mouse to click the node you want the arrow to point to.
Node Link Navigation (shift y)
To navigate from the start of the node link to the end, use shift Y.
Tip for Node Link Navigation (Two way Node Links)
As of May 2022, the node link navigation feature (shift Y) is one way only.
However, you can always make a two way connection by making a
node link from node A to node B, and then making a node link from node B
to node A. This way, pressing shift Y will help you navigate back
and forth from the node link.
