While this is not technically required, spatialite 5 is pretty mature now and brings some new features not available in 4.3

It might be required in order to achieve #10 and possible to fix #9

Some new features in 5:

  • A new way of 'dissolving features'
  • A way of reducing disk usage for stored points
  • ... more things to add here as they are discovered

Note: this might be a lot easier to achieve in Linux than MacOS, it would be ideal if we could support both.
