Some contributors (mainly golf course mappers) will avoid multipolygons for various reasons, with the main one being the software they import OSM data into does not support them. So they end up making shapes like this when there is an island in a lake or just whenever something needs to be cut out of a containing area:
(Example image provided by Ezekielf on the OSM World Discord server.)
This is already documented on the Wiki as a common issue with Golf courses, but I highly doubt that most people doing this kind of thing read the Wiki so maybe a warning for it would have a better chance of getting their attention.
Wrapping polygon areas around a hole and leaving a tiny open gap. Use multipolygons instead.
Would it be possible to add a warning for these? Even if those contributors ignore the warning, it would make these improper changes easier to find since iD adds ignored warnings to the changesets tags.
