Definitely

  • Put x-axis labels on top and bottom of graph
  • Add a bar for each year (3 max)
  • What percentage of measure G is spent on this program?

Maybe

  • Roll up categories into higher levels (OUSD salaries + benefits, classified, certificated, consultants)
  • Only show amounts >$10k
  • Bar shaded for central / site spending
  • Put NCLB program into others
  • Put a dot on the map for central (diff color)
  • Remember which program you were looking at as you change "tabs"/sections on the top nav
  • make "total spending" >> "total funding" ?

Inspiration - Some Day

  • Overlay districts
  • Show how many positions are possible
    Example: $350k ->> 2 consultants or 7 teachers

Unanswered Questions

  1. What is the story behind gray dots? Why no $$?
  2. Why aren't there many dots for certain programs?

Use Cases Discovered

  • For people viewing it along with the annual report, how do they compliment one another?
