On 24 July 2013, Council Member Brad Lander introduced NYC's Bike Share Open Data Law, Int. No 1117-2013. This is a local law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the complication of Citi Bike usage data.

As active cyclists and open data nurds, we want to ensure that NYC has the best possible bike share open data law. Use this wiki to aggregate bicycle open data best practices and bike share open data best practices. Use the "code" repo to edit the bill and suggest edits to bill.

Over the next few months, the BetaNYC and #BikeNYC community will be engaging with the City Council to ensure that we have the best possible outcome.

In addtion to this repo/wiki, several CitiBike / bikeNYC hackers partisipate in a Google Group.
