[Feature Request] protocols should be markdown files

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
In ARCitect, we added a protocol but you can only start a text file and it is not displayed as a markdown, although it uses a markdown editor.

Display as a markdown would be much prettier :)

Just use .md as extension for your file.

within ARCitect you cannot choose the extension. You can only start a txt file. I would have to go to the file and save it again. Would be more intuitive if you are editing in markdown to be saved as markdown

You can give your file a name with extension. E.g. mynotes.md instead of mynotes.

But, I get the point:

• make .md extension default
• allow renaming files via file tree
