UI freezes in iOS 9 when message is displayed #98

Since upgrading to Xcode 7 and deploying on iOS 9 the UI becomes unresponsive as long as a message is displayed on the status bar. Is this a known issue or is there perhaps something wrong with the way I'm using it?
