I've just found a good example of what we usually find in the manuscripts we work with in the Hispamus project.
It is a transition type of notation between mensural and modern notation thorough the 17th century. As the 18th century approaches more elements of modern notation are found.
In this example we can find this mix of elements:
grace notes
mensuration signs
colored notes
balines crossing a colored brevis
It is also usual to find beamed notes, and I have a case with chords.
Our musicologist, Francesc Villanueva, considers it mensural notation because it contains elements not present in modern notation.
I've checked that it is possible to encode everything inside the mensural module, maybe using this kind of encoding: @notationtype="mensural.white" @notationsubtype="baroque.hispanic".
As for the line of bars that crosses the note, maybe we should use measure elements and encode the crossed note in the measure it begins, leaving to the engraving system to draw it correctly.
This is not a rare example because there are thousands of examples like this.
