The template file states

The abstract should consist of a single paragraph containing up to 1200 characters. Only the <rend> and <term> elements are allowed. Other markup is not permitted. The value of <head> for this section must match "ABSTRACT" — no other characters, spaces, or punctuation signs are allowed.

Nevertheless, when authoring a file in oXygen more elements are in the proposed elements list. This is due to the fact that this validation is Schematron based, so false authoring is possible and then validation fails. This is not good in terms of user guidance, especially when it comes to unexperienced users…

Moreover schematron states that ptr, term, AND refare allowed, in contrast to the above description in the template.
