Colours don't change after I change them in options

I use a dark mode them in VS2022 and by default VSColorOutput uses some colors (like blue) that are not easily readable. I have changed the colors (see screenshot) in Tools | Options to use brighter blues, etc. but the same blue color as before continues to be displayed. Since making the changes, I have restarted VS2022 and even the computer so it isn't a case of colors only being picked up at extension startup.
