Can't sync annotations made in Zotero desktop

Hi,
first of all, thanks for the great app! If I can get it to work properly, it would have all the features I was hoping for.
The issue I am facing is that the annotations I made in the PDFs in the Zotero desktop application are not synced with the app.
The other way round, i.e. making notes in Xodo and the uploading the changes, works perfectly, and I can see the annotations in the desktop application.
I am using WebDAV to access the PDFs.
Maybe I am missing some kind of sync option, but unfortunately I can't figure it out myself. Any help is much appreciated!

I have looked into this further, and it seems that it has to do with the new zotero PDF viewer, which stores the annotations separately and not within the PDF anymore. Still not sure how to solve this though.

I'm seeing the same behavior, and this also appears to be the cause for #178

You have to use an external PDF viewer on desktop PC. This will increase data traffic but makes your annotation visible on your android smartphone

Hi! To be clear, in #178 the cause seems to be different, I am NOT using the zotero PDF viewer on my PC. The PDFs do have the annotations stored in them, it's just that Zoo doesn't seem to notice when the PDF on my PC (and synced to the zotero server) changes, it doesn't redownload to my tablet.
