Implementing EntityWithPluginCollectionInterface would help us to:

  • Manage config dependencies automatically
  • Remove preSave() method on the Matcher (added to save plugin configuration properly)
  • Improve DX.

Investigate core examples (e.g. Block) and upload the patch.
