Originally I thought I could star or watch repositories under this organization, but that doesn't work. The only way to pull in an external repository is to fork or change ownership. I think it would be best to create .yaml files to organize the following information.

Types of Content

  • Open Materials Curated Projects (no file, use Github API)

    • PyMKS
  • Open Materials Science Projects on Github (github-projects.yml)

    • Materials Project
    • Dream3d
  • Open Materials Science Users on Github (github-users.yml)

Links to Twitter, Linkedin, and whatever else.

  • Open Science Links (extern-open-science.html)

    • Titus Brown
    • Open Science Notebook
  • External Open Materials Science Links (extern-links.yml)

    • MGI
    • CHIMAD
  • Our own Posts

These will be managed in the directory (_posts)

Example YAML entry

For example, an entry in extern-links.yml would be:

name: Materials Genome Initiative
url: http://nist.gov/mgi/
thumbnail: http://nist.gov/mgi/images/mgi-logo.gif
description: The Materials Genome Initiative focuses on organizing the digital collection of materials science information to support areas of national need.
