Deploy to local DHF

Hi,

How can we deploy changes in DHCC in local on prem DHF ?
The documentation points to a DHS deployement not a local one

Hi Rad, I'm not sure I understand the question.
First, the current version 2.0.5 is only compatible with Data Hub Framework (DHF) 5.2.x. The documentation instructions are for deploying the data hub you create with 2.0.5 to DHS (Data Hub Service)
To deploy the 2.0.5 to a local datahub, 5.2.x compatible, you'd just use gradle mlDeploy to deploy to that hub.
Envision/Data Hub Central Community Edition (DHCCE) 2.0.5 is not compatible with DHF 5.4 (aka Data Hub Central) YET. We'll be releasing that soon here. Likewise, to deploy to an on-prem 5.4 hub from DHCCE to DHC, you'd just use mlDeploy as well.
I'll post a comment here when the update is available.

my database is definitely not data-hub , could it be that the db name is hard coded as data-hub by default ?

Do you have an application.properties file defined? This file should be sibling to where you run the. jar from. Define this, regardless if ports are standard are not. https://marklogic-community.github.io/data-hub-central-community/

Your application user also requires a hub-central-developer role for 5.4 Does the user your logging into Community Edition with have that role?

Thank you for getting back to me. my answer is yes to both points you discussed, I created a role and added it the user as well.
With the current version I still have this error message, but when I run the older version it works with no issues
The error message is a bit misleading, it is saying that there is no such database data-hub-MODULES and I am not naming my default database data-hub

hey @radaniba I'm confused sir. the prior version (Community Edition 2.0.5) will only work with a DHF 5.2.x format data hub. For DHF 5.4 the formats for flows/steps change, so those have to be updated to 5.4 format to work with Community Edition 5.4.1.

I don't see hardcoded DBs in the code. The ports should provide access to the DBs so I'm not sure if the error message is erroneous or not. Does your hub have a modules-db defined for the hub db?

Did you update your hub to 5.4? https://docs.marklogic.com/datahub/5.4/upgrade.html If you did, then Community Edition 2.0.5 may work for Connect/Explore, but will definitely break for Integrate and the Mastering Workspace. So the prior version may not be working the way you think it is.

5.4.1 requires the update of the hub to the latest format, and then you mlDeploy these changes to the hub, then Data Hub Central and Community Edition (5.4.1) should be able to work with the hub.

This is exactly what I did. I think the update to a 5.4 didn't go without issues. I installed DHCC on a fresh 5.4 install and it worked smoothly with no issues.
I will investigate further.

Hey @radaniba. That may be it. The upgrade may be an issue. I upgraded one project, and had no issue. Yesterday I updated another, and it seems the 5.4 updater didn't create the right artifacts. So, ymmv with upgrade. Total PITA. Thanks for your continued perseverance and updates here.
