The tags describing people's work are visible on https://m2lines.github.io/team/ however we only get a few keywords. The goal is to create additional pages describing what these keywords or tags mean. As of now the following tags are finalized and require content to be delivered:

  • Ocean
  • Machine Learning
  • Coupled Physics
  • Climate Model Development
  • Data Assimilation
  • Sea Ice
  • Atmosphere

@jbusecke @johannag126 could you help assigning these tags to people with expertise in the domain to write a few paragraphs explaining the tag? Thanks

I could try myself on "Ocean" but I think there are more knowledgable folks for all of these in the project 😁

@johannag126 Would it be helpful if I draft something for "Ocean"? Once we are happy with the format etc., we have an example and it will be easier to tag other people to write something about the other topics?

@NoraLoose I was just drafting something ! Yes that could be very useful. Ideally the page would have an overall structure that ties all the individual projects together rather than 7 (or whatever) consecutive paragraphs describing each project.

So the goal is to have a single page that describes the 7 following themes:

  • Ocean
  • Machine Learning
  • Deep Learning
  • Climate Model Development
  • Data Assimilation
  • Sea Ice
  • Atmosphere

Do you mind sharing your draft? I am happy to work together on the draft with you.

Sorry I meant within the ocean page, tying all the individual projects together (lateral param, vertical mixing, etc). I didn;t mean to confuse you with the 7 keywords! (I picked 7 at random!)

Gotcha. Would you like to work on the ocean page draft together? Happy to continue from where you started off!

@IamShubhamGupto @johannag126 I wrote drafts for the pages

Should we go ahead and incorporate the content into the website? Or should we first agree on the final content?

Ill let Johanna take the final decision, but we can start adding content to the page, get some feedback and keep improving

with #90 and #91 we have included Ocean, Data Assimilation and Machine Learning.

@IamShubhamGupto I actually just noticed a mistake on the original post: "Deep learning" is not part of the original keywords, but "Coupled Physics" is

Ive updated the checklist - as for members with deep learning as their tag, it will be removed in the next PR

You can leave it as their "keyword" but it won't be linked to any pages (people were able to pick 1 keyword of their choice in addition to the preselected list we gave them)
