There is an intriguing panel/extension in the Hub for a "S3 Object Storage Browser" that says "This extension allows you to browse S3-compatible object storage instances, such as AWS S3 and IBM Cloud Object Storage." and asks for a provided endpoint URL and access ID.
I think a How-To Guide on how/when to use this would be good?
when may desired data need to be accessed directly through this as opposed to gcsfs cloud bucket?

Nice catch. I have actually wondered about this, and inquired with 2i2c, but I think this is not actually functional (😭). But having something like this would actually be nice. Might be worth inquiring over at pangeo-forge/pangeo-forge-recipes#556 who introduced this and if there is a way we can more generally adopt it for pangeo deployments like ours
