Hi lda users!

I'm planning on taking a break from my role as maintainer starting September 1, 2024.

The code works fine under Python 3.12 and NumPy 2.0. As far as I can tell, there's nothing that needs attention right now.

If someone would like to fork this code and maintain the fork, I'd be happy to update the README to point users to the new software.
