Clarify the use of the indexAction database field #3602

Many database tables contain an indexAction field. The field contains an apparently random collection of the values INDEX, DONE or null. Example table task:

I thought that had something to do with indexing, but at the same time all tasks are indexed:

Question: What is this column about? What do the states mean?
