In some cases an article may have contributors in addition to the authors, or in some cases (e.g. the SciPy Proceedings for a given year, not papers within the proceedings) the proceedings itself has no authors only a group of editors.
In these cases when the (project) frontmatter fields for other contributors are used they are not shown.
This means in a situation like SciPy proceedings, it is appropriate to show the editors in the page header but the themes currently do not support this.
Proposal
Proposal: to show the other contributors in the header unit and:
in the case where they are supplied in addition to authors, using a styling / layout where the authors take precedence
in the case where there are no authors, display the other contributors more prominently
In either case, clearly indicate the role of the contributor.
Tasks and updates
It would be great to get some input on how this should be tackled in the two cases outlined? are there more cases to be considered? ideas on appropriate layout & styling? whether there is an best practice or relevant prior art out there that can inform this?
