SSML (Speech Markup)

I know this is an odd question, but does anyone know of a markdown to "speech synthesis markup language" (SSML) translator? I am trying to take long markdown documents and feed them to a TTS (text-to-speech read). For example, headers could be surrounded by pauses, etc.
