Yea I'm not surprised. I believe PipeWire has a completely different architecture than Pulse even though work has been put into developing software to make them compatible to make the transition from PipeWire to Pulse easier. PipeWire ideally should allow for a cleaner solution in capturing application audio though I'm not too familiar with PipeWire so I'm not entirely sure

I tried this plugin with Fedora 35 and since Fedora has PipeWire that is why I assume it doesn't work. PipeWire has support for PulseAudio and JACK functionality so in theory PipeWire should be able to do it easier than standard Pulse but as a non-developer I have no idea how it works. however I can probably get you in touch with Wym, the founder of PipeWire, if you'd like to implement support for it.

Someone else has actually already created a plugin like this one for PipeWire. His plugin is also still experimental and in development but you can find it here. I am not currently on a system that uses PipeWire, but I may add support in the future especially once it becomes more mainstream (which seems like it may be soon)

I didnt know about that plugin, thanks for the link. I will try that out. If you dont mind my curiosity, what distro are you using?

nice! Kubuntu is great I used to use it before switching to Fedora KDE. I thought Fedora only bothered with GNOME for a while but turns out their KDE is nice too :D
