Spring release 🌸 (Clockwork 3.0)

This is a meta issue putting together all planned features for the next major Clockwork release (3.0).

Clockwork server-side

• add authentication support (Demands auth option clockwork-chrome#33, implemented Authentication support #252, Authentication support clockwork-chrome#55)
• add support for dark theme for Clockwork Web (implemented Web UI dark theme #254)
• add support for custom user tabs (implemented Extend clockwork #14)
• add support for symfony (via web profiler)
• add support for xdebug (implemented Xdebug profiling support #271)
• add support for logging full stack traces instead of the file:line (in log, queries, etc) (Allow the data sources to provide a stack trace #225, implemented Add support for collecting of stack traces #250, Add support for stack traces clockwork-chrome#53)
• add support for peak memory usage
• add support for recording subrequests (PR Added support for recording subrequests #249)
• improve data serialization (Logging failed when logging an object with resource type field #219, Laravel 5.5 some requests result in empty json files #203) (partially implemented Require PHP 5.5 #222, implemented Improved serialization #270)
• improve handling of queries with binary bindings (Laravel 5.5 some requests result in empty json files #203 (comment), implemented 28bcfcc)
• use Laravel 5 contracts, drop Laravel 4 support (implemented Drop Laravel 4 support #221, fixes the ability to use other event dispatchers when using clockwork, for example EventFake when testing #220)
• require PHP 5.5, use all the good stuff (implemented Require PHP 5.5 #222)
• register the middleware in boot instead of register method (Enable flag is not adhered #202, implemented 8f2a36b)

Clockwork app

• rework "request" tab to be more useful in general (partially implemented Requests tab improvements clockwork-chrome#57)
• rework "timeline" tab to a "performance" tab including useful performance stats from all tabs (implemented Rebrand Timeline as Performance tab clockwork-chrome#51)
• add support for xdebug (implemented Xdebug profiler clockwork-chrome#63)
• improve the timeline component UX (implemented Improved timeline UI clockwork-chrome#60)
• add "preserve log" feature like in the "network" dev tools tab (implemented Add "preserve log" feature clockwork-chrome#39)
• add counters with execution time, number of total, read and write queries to the "database" tab (Show number of SQL queries on top of tab #231, implemented Database tab stats clockwork-chrome#52)
• add ability to search/filter data in tables (database, log, headers, etc) (Text search through messages in Log tab clockwork-chrome#37) (PR Table filters, reworked sorting clockwork-chrome#48)
• improve distinction of various log levels in the "log" tab (Visual distinction of Log levels clockwork-chrome#38) (PR Distinctive colors for errors and warnings in the log tab clockwork-chrome#49)
• add easily copyable url of the request (Add context menu option: Copy url clockwork-chrome#17, implemented Requests tab improvements clockwork-chrome#57)
• add support for dark theme when running standalone (implemented Dark mode support when running as standalone app clockwork-chrome#50)
• add support for recording subrequests (PR Added support for subrequests clockwork-chrome#46)
• improve the behavior of requests list to be more stable in various edge cases (Empty entries on long requests clockwork-chrome#40) (partially implemented Rework request placeholders clockwork-chrome#41)
• tweak the highlight color in dark theme (dark theme orange is blinding clockwork-chrome#36)
• fix requests list header sizes if scroll-bar is shown (Requests list - incorrect header columns sizes when scrollbar is shown clockwork-chrome#35)
• unify extensions to use webRequest api for observing HTTP requests

Under consideration

• add support for an on-demand mode where Clockwork is active only when the extension is open (X-Clockwork-Requested-With header for lean usage clockwork-chrome#7)
• add "response" tab for simple responses (Response Tab #127)
• add support for gzip compression for the file storage
• add request replay support
