Code autocomplete doesn't work on any terminals except Vscode embedded terminal

Using helix editor in the vscode embedded-terminal works fine - I get LSP warnings as well as code automcompletions.
However, when using helix in iTerm or default terminal, only the LSP warnings work - not code autocompletions. Additionally, when I quit helix on those apps, I get this warning:

Error: Timed out waiting for language servers to shutdown

I tried restarting the LSP in helix but that doesn't work. Not sure what the problem is. From the helix health output, it all looks good so 🤷🏻

That it works in VSCode and not in other terminals might suggest that the version of the LSP you installed has some issues. I suspect that VSCode passes its own environment variables to the integrated terminal and Helix will use the VSCode-installed pyright LSP. That would be a little confusing since I think VSCode uses Pylance, but I can't think of another explanation.

However, you can check in detail what might be happening by enabling verbose logs on Helix's side via hx -v.

Good idea! I tried that. I got a pretty big log, but nothing looks out of the oridinary. Atleast it catches the "Timed out waiting for LSPs to shutdow" error 🤷

@neel04 try to launch hx in test project dir (not from user home)

Huh that works. Why does that happen?

When lsp starts, it's must know project root ( roots & workspace-lsp-roots in helix terms).
And common way it's launch editor from project root dir. When you project is user home it's makes lsp not working or drop down it to analyze all you data to find whole context.
