This recipe should be rewritten to use make install added in GAP 4.12. I am happy to provide assistance with that, in the form of answering questions or explaining how things fit together / are "meant" to be done.

Note that make install does not take care of installing packages at this time, so one still would have to copy over the package directories "manually".
